Way Finder Navigator

Way Finder Navigator is easily installed on your phone, a fully comprehensive instruction book is included in all purchases, however, we feel confident that users shall find the software very intuitive to use.

Wayfinder displays maps whilst you are in motion, graphics when you are expected to either turn or make some sort of directional alteration, and even speaks these to you in a clear and pleasant voice. The maps automatically adjust in scale dependant on traveling speed, and various points of interest are illustrated on the map for your convenience whilst you are in motion.

Wayfinder free of charge notifies you of speed cameras with both a visual graphic and an audible warning ensuring that you are always aware of them. Maps are updated automatically on the Wayfinder server, meaning that you never need to take your phone to your computer to update the memory as with many other competitors’ products. Wayfinder simply sends you the journey that you need at that time; therefore you always get the latest road information. Maps are updated on the server for most large cities every 6 weeks, and even in small rural locations at least once every three months.

Wayfinder for an additional fee allows Traffic Master Integration, which means that you shall never run into traffic jams again, established road works or traffic hot spots provided that a quicker route is available. Wayfinder shall automatically reroute you if necessary to avoid delays.

Wayfinder automatically reroutes should you deviate from your specified route, either asking you to make a U turn or rerouting a different journey, which ever is most effective at the time.

Wayfinder works simply and easily, you are asked to enter a business / street name, building number if required, and post code + country. Wayfinder then suggests various possible destinations based on the information that you inputted.

Once you have selected the appropriate destination Wayfinder calculates the route based on the preferences that you have set, i.e. avoid motorways, quickest route by either time or distance etc.

The route is sent to your phone via GPRS data; this is charged by your mobile phone provider and measured in kilobytes.

You only pay for the volume of data that is downloaded from the Wayfinder server, and the amount of data varies according to your use of Wayfinder. There are basically three different ways of using Wayfinder Navigator™ that are based on data download in kB per hour of motion, which means a calculated route that takes one hour to navigate.

Minimum mode - (Guide view) 5-10 kB per hour of driving. Using the application in Guide view, which guides you with high-resolution icons and voice, requires download only of data for the route.

Medium mode - (Map view) 30-60 kB per hour of driving. In this mode you navigate with preinstalled maps on your phone. You can select and download (free of charge) city areas from MyWayfinder.com, the travel-planning site available to every Wayfinder user. The preloaded maps are automatically activated when your GPS-position is within the area of those maps. The server will only send you new maps of areas that are not already stored on your phone. You contact the server to calculate the route and to receive an itinerary which appears on the map itself (this explains the download of data when using stored maps).

Flexible mode - (Map view) First time visit to an area: 150-300 kBs per hour of driving (maps are continuously downloaded through the Internet), thereafter for the same area about 30-60 KBs per hour of driving. Once an area has been downloaded, the map information is stored on the phone for future use thus avoiding multiple download of identical data.

You will find this information, and more, in the FAQ on myWayfinder.com.

A Typical subscriber uses between 500Kbs and 1MB per month. You can check with your mobile phone provider as to their charges for downloading GPRS data, but as a rough guide most providers will charge about £2 for 1Mb. Other lower and greater use tariffs are always available, and we advise you to consult your network provider for more information.
